I think where K2 needs to be a success and to have legs is the gameplay, but then Sony have never said that this game will be enjoyable, they said it will look good. It will move huge numbers on the first and second weeks because of graphics and because it'll be the only exclusive fps on the console of any real quality, but if they dont fix the gameplay and actually give the game quality, it will die very quickly

So, your saying the gameplay currently sucks?Well, when you see "gameplay" videos do they look bad? I mean compared to haze(latest videos) kz2 is a god. Also I forgot to mention that gameinformer was playing in normal mode, the AI was fantastic.

Actually, the gameplay vids I've seen look like standard FPS fare. One actually had horendous AI where the guy just stood there while being shot, not even attempting to take cover or fight back.

HUS;

7.1 isn't innovative, its been done

Deffered rendering is technically innovative, but not gameplay innovative (99% of people will never know)

Animation/hit is just like Deffered.

 ok sorry its not waggel its not innovaitve ?

What is innovative then ?

The KZ2 developers have mentioned that weather would play an important role, and I talked about this a few post up. So, heres a hypothetical on how controlling the weather could change the game;

Situation; You and your compatriots are held up in a building. You know some helgast are going to be dropping troops down in the field in front of you. The building houses a weather control unit, and you have to decide how best to alter the weather to win the fight - heres the options you have;

1. Make it lightning. When the dropships land the troops, some will be struck reducing the number of troops you have to fight.

2. Make it rain. The field they are landing in will become a muddy mess. The troops will have difficulty moving through the field, so they will be slow, easy targets.

3. Make it windy. Some the the dropships have to land farther away, giving you more time to hit them

4. Make it so overcast that everything is dark. You have nightvision, they dont. Pretty obvious advantage.

5. Make it sunny. The building is polished metal, so the sun will reflect off it making the helgast have trouble seeing which windows have snipers and which don't. The helgast are easier to see.

You can only change one condition, but each offers a different gameplay experience and increases the replayability greatly. This is also something that has never been done before and would thus be an "innovative" game.

Problem is, they have not shown off anything like this. Also, since KZ2 is apparently in cramped, city like conditions I just can't see weather being as important as the scenario I outlined above.
