They're allowed to bring DS to schools because in some instances, its so popular and there's so much good educational software on it that some classes use it as a teaching medium. I read an article where some groups published software to augment teaching.
As an aside, I'm finally thinking of getting one, any chances at all of there being a price cut anytime soon? Maybe?
