Lingyis, your statement about the 360 and ps3 being the same product was exactly the conclusion I came to as well.

The other interesting thing I noticed was that up until last week, the PS3 was tracking almost exactly the PS2 sales in the same way.  But not it looks like it might be trending along the original XBox line -- we'll see where that one goes over the next few weeks and with the holiday season coming up.

In any case, it will be interesting to see how this progresses.  It is precisely because there are so many factors that just happen to be coming together coherantly that make this interesting for me to watch. And quite possibly a real-world example of the central limit theorem.
