There are 8 octoliths and a final boss, and a real final boss (kinda like how Sonic Heroes had a final boss, and then a real final boss for after you beat the four stories and got the 7 chaos emeralds). Should be doable in 7-10 hours, for a first runthrough (high estimate, too. I tend to take longer than most)
The real final boss is kinda weird to get to, though. You have to shoot at 6 targets with a specific weapon in a specific order matching that weapon's color (i presume this wouldn't count as spoilers, sorry if it does)
More combat-focused than any other Metroid game. Exploration is rather simple
