It's not that they hate it. They like it, but they WANT to hate it.
They, like many journalists, have been hating on this game since the CGI trailer from E305. Like many people, they don't like to eat their words (which is also why GTAIV is the third highest rated game on GameRankings - journalists couldn't admit that it wasn't as good as they hyped it to be). |
My only dispute here is pretty off-topic, but I'll go with it for now nonetheless. Why does everyone on this site seem to think that since they were disappointed with GTA4 for whatever reason, it wasn't a very good game? I think it owned all the other GTA-games 10 times over, and was extremely pleased with the time I put into the game. I thought GTA4 was a pure masterpiece, a lot of it due to the sheer amount of content and the scope of the world.
But apparently people loved the tedious shit from San Andreas like building up your physique, and getting fat if you ate burgers, which in my opinion was micromanagement at it's worst. Either way, I think GTA4 got rid of all the bad stuff and improved on all the good stuff. So what if it doesn't have jetpacks? It was great. And honestly, I think a lot of journalists agree with me, and that they aren't just afraid to "admit" the game isn't that good.
