While 6 to 10 hours has become the standard for single player campaigns in a lot of games now and there are some benefits (more focused and consistent experience), I do miss the days of the N64 with Rare's epic games ... 20 to 40 hour single player games with several multiplayer modes each with multiple maps and a cheat system which encouraged playing through a game until you mastered it.
The thing that really depresses me is that a lot of these modern games cost over 10 times as much as what those old Rare games cost, and with how large game budgets have become it is unlikely that anyone would ever justify making games like that again.
