Awesome numbers all round for Japan really. However it keeps with the trend that gaming in Japan is going down.

PS3 sold 1k more last year and if it werent for WKC you have to assume those numbers would of been bad. The question then becomes what will the numbers be in the next few weeks when there is nothing?

360 sales went up by nearly 100% on last year (11k last year). Was there even anything out for it?

Wii dropped from 226k to 141k. Nearly a 100k drop.

All in all i think were about to see Japan crash and burn in the following weeks in terms of its gaming hardware sales.

So they are nice numbers but if you add up the three consoles in total you get 228k. The Wii sold pretty much that on its own this week last year. Not good signs at all.

Oh, so 360 is up 100 percent thanks to nothing, while PS3 is only up because of the second week of WKC sales?

Failure.

360 is up because of all the JRPGs, and the price cut in JP.  Let's get that straight.

But can we still really talk about something that happened almost 5 months ago as a reason for a 360 boost? The price cut was in september 08, that is looong ago, would that really cause a sales spike now? in japan? I disagree. As for these JRPGs what new ones are those? The only JRPG coming for 360 which possible will cause a spike is SO4.

With the PS3 it had WKC to help it push sales, not quite sure how that statment can be seen as "failure" exactly? Without that game not sure you can assume the PS3 sales would be that high?

So i stand by what i said 360 is up because of nothing simply because in the general scheme of things 11k then 19k sales are nothing. And PS3 is up because of WKC which is doing very well.

To further justify what i was saying figures show Japanese gaming sales fell by over 15% in 2008, 2009 looks set to drop further. So as i also said it will be interesting to see what happens to the sales figures across the board in the next few weeks. Will they stay the same as last year or fall further down? Personally as i said it will be down and be down a lot.
