I suspect they will follow the GameBoy/DS model release a Wii 1.5. Essentially a revised Wii with either a packing in MotionPlus or "all in one" controller, 780p output, improved storage, and a credit card reader*. While the console might feature slight technical improvements, it will remain completely, or almost completely, compatable with the Wii 1.0.
