I often troll craigslist for older games, or used Xbox 360 games.  Today I decided to look for some Wii games -- surely a few of the games I am interested in would be available used.

None.  And what I did see were Mario Kart and Wii Fit, well above retail price.  "That's odd," I think, as surely Mario Kart can't really  be selling above retail by scalpers.  How would it?

Average new price$80.53

Average used price$71.90

That's amazing.  But I sure as hell wouldn't sell my copy for $80, it's too damn much fun to play online.

So what was released around when Mario Kart was released?  I know: GTA 4.

Hmm, less than $19 with free shipping?  Wow, the value of that game seems to be dropping like a rock compared to Mario Kart.  I guess -- I played quite a bit of GTA 4 on my 360, although not even 1/5th as much Mario kart as I played, and I'm not willing to pay $19 to own it.  I can get it from blockbuster for $7.50, after all.
