As far as specs go, the PS3 is no Neo-Geo or 3DO.
The PS3 is better specced for its time. Sadly we never really got the experience the true potential of the 3DO, there wasn't enough support. Luckily this isn't the case for the PS3.
One of the 3DO's best games was Out of the World (Another World) which sadly looked almost exactly like the Amiga original (basically technology from 1985).
Commodore was far too late to the console race which could have saved them otherwise from the IBM compatible PC losses. Instead the CDTV was technically not much more than an entry level specced Amiga 500 with a CD drive and not at all built as a console. It had potential though like Defender of the Crown 2 shows:
