This has nothing to do with Oil.
Israel is just doing it now because it's the perfect time. Bush is now a lame duck so it's not like they have anything to worry about from him and Obama doesn't take office until January 20th. Expect it to be all over before then since it's unlikely Israel wants to start off Obama's presidency by causing him problems.
