By reusing a franchise like MySims from game to game, EA will be able to reuse a lot of assets which should reduce the cost and time it takes to develop further games in the series. If they focus on maintaining and improving the quailty of games over time, they could build a series that can reliably turn a healthy profit from year to year.

Now what I was saying ... I was expecting EA to treat the MySims franchise in a similar way to how Nintendo treats the Mario franchise so we might see the following:

2010: MySims Dodgeball
2011: MySims Mall
2012: MySims Paintball
...
