most of these games are plain trash, and the sales cant compete against console games

I'll bet both my nuts, that SC2 will be the best selling game of '09. And when all is said and done, by the time SC3 rolls around it will have out-sold Halo 3 hadidly.

Ooh, that is a close bet there.  The original is sitting at 9.5 mil and that is pretty close to Halo 3's sales.  Although there are more people gaming these days, so that will help.  But is the RTS genre as big as it was?

Oh, It already outsold Halo 3. If I'm not mistaken Halo 3 is at 9 mil. I also highly doubt the legs of Halo 3 will be as fantastic as SC's.

Starcraft didn't outsell Halo 3, H3 just hasn't caught up yet.

It will within another year, though.

And you're wrong - Mario Kart Wii will pobably outsellf SC2 this year, alongside everything else.

Care to make this interesting? If sc2 comes out during the summer it will blow away anything this year. In all regions of course.

Define "interesting". Starcraft is sitting at 9.5 million copies legally sold. It took it half a decade to reach that point. Halo 3 will pass that up by the end of December.

Starcraft 2 is going to have to appeal to a much larger userbase than the original, on top of being pirated a lot less than current trends would indicate, in order to match those numbers within a year, much less six months. We're going to be lucky if Mario Kart Wii doesn't break ten million for the year before December even gets here.

Like I said, I'll bet both my nuts that SC2 will blow away MKWii, if it cocmes out before Fall.
