| MikeB said: @ Sardauk Lets say 1.200 € And why do you think the PS3 pricing is so scandalous then? For 1200 Euro, you can also have a PS3 with: - A large harddrive - Free online gameplay (+Playstation Home) - Blu-Ray movie playback (taking full advantage of your HDTV) - Keyboard, mouse and wireless headset - and extras like Wi-Fi, less noise generation, internal power supply, etc. as well as 15 full price PS3 games (with DLC) instead. Is that scandalous? |
No, back when I bought my 360, PS3 was still 600 Euros.
- A large harddrive -> Commodity
- Free online gameplay (+Playstation Home) -> lack of QOS
- Blu-Ray movie playback (taking full advantage of your HDTV) -> Ok good point
- Keyboard, mouse and wireless headset -> Pfff
- and extras like Wi-Fi, less noise generation, internal power supply, etc. Wifi for online gaming ? Less noise (it is also very noisy, internal power supply ?? ..)
No more seriously, the price is the very first reason why PS3 is lagging behind and badly ! Not compared to the opposition, but to its own brand. The first shot of SONY, the PS1 sold what ? 100 Mil ? And here we are at less than 20 % of that after 2 years ??
No the price is still too heavy because SONY failed at securing a good procution capability. I won't pay for them to cover their financial problem...
That is all. They failed for this generation, all they can achieve will be a less bad situation
.... it is like that, lets wait for the next one...
Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.
