Um ... Sony has sold more than 8.75 million units already. And regarding your closing remarks, businesses DO make mistakes, you know: MS, RRoD, ring a bell? Obviously Sony doesn't plan to lose money overall on the PS3, but that doesn't mean it won't happen.
