Many said M$ copied apple in designing vista but using existing tech to create a new one is never a crime.

Core at Microsoft's huge success really lies with them buying QDOS (Quick and Dirty OS) which got re-branded MSDOS for usage with IBM personal computers. It was a limited straight copy of CP/M, even down to the source codes.

I find it funny people forget history. The antitrust cases against Microsoft had great merit, many interesting revelations in court on how they abused their position.
