Yeah PS3 will not catch up to the 360 any time soon and Sony realize that, they want to make profit not gain install base at this point. A $300 PS3 would change everything but once again that means Sony lost another $100 for every PS3 sold. I would like a PS4 not a PS3 at $200 outselling the 360 thus lowering the chances of a next gen Playstation console due to huge losses.
Sony learnt a very tough lesson, that when you release a console at £425 people are not going to buy it. The PS3 will still get all the multi-plats and you wont see COD, RE, FF etc going exclusive to the 360 so nothing for PS3 owners to worry about.
More 3rd party exclusives on PS3 might go on 360 but they will still be on PS3, just some kids wont be able to say "HA HA YOU CANT PLAY THIS GAME!", so sad. :(
