its simple, some people fear change, if people like things as they are, then they will see new things as a threat to that.
Personally, when i first heard about the Wii i was sceptical, but after playing on my mates a few times i came round to it, and know i own a Wii and several games, that said i still enjoy my PS3 and 360 just as much, to me the Wii has expanded my gaming ability, it has introduced me to more "casual" games than i have played before, the one complaint i have about the Wii is the lack of shooters, hopefully games like "The Conduit" will address that though.
