lol FFVII remake threads are always popular. I'm gonna miss them if a remake does come.
Btw, let the game stay in the past, guys. Surrounded by good memories. JRPGs are not so hot today in the west, so it wouldn't break any sales records. Square Enix is not going to spend a big budget on a remake, so don't count on Tech Demo graphics. And finally, it would probably come out for a portable (probably the DS), 'cause it represents lower risks. I'd rather no remake at all. I have good memories of the game. If you can't tolerate the way the game looks today, you probably don't deserve to play it anyway...
