On Topic:
No... it will not be Sony's "year"... If 2007,and 2008 weren't its year, even with a lackluster lineup by Nintendo in 2008, a great line up from Sony in 07 and 08, and RRoD problems throughout both 07 and 08... then will it ever be Sony's year? By the time the price reaches the high selling point.... Nintendo and Microsoft will probably already be announcing there next consoles... Which will pretty much make anyone decline the PS3, in favor of the next generation consoles soon to be released...
In other words:
Nintendo:
2008: Lackluster First and Third Party game Lineup... Over use of perfials...
2009: -New and old ips making a comeback... (New mario? New Zelda? Pikmin 3, Punchout) DdoC and FF4 in America... Gamecube Remakes; Third parties stepping up... The Conduit, Madworld, Monster Hunter 3, Dragon Quest, etc. (This list actually goes on)
Microsoft:
2008: RRoD... Oldest system out... feeling stale...
2009: -Price drop already in effect... NXE already released to reinvigorate the experience... RRoD officially gone... Solid line up... (Halo:Wars and Halo:ODST; Each is set to sell at least a million on day one...)
Sony:
2008: Great Game Lineup... Huge price (Huge Factor)
2009: Solid Game Lineup (Not as good as last years...) ... Still Huge Price (No Pricedrop in sight, Sony still not profiting...)
