Clover was funded by Capcom and Capcom decided to disolve them... they didn't go bankrupt... Hell Clover is roughly still together just now as Platinum games with the old director of the Resident Evil series and under SEGA now... a company that will advertise their games like they should be...
And most of that list... those people made MANY MANY duds... 3DO games... please all they did was take advantage of the sports craze of the PS1 putting out subpar game after subpar game and when people finally decided it wasn't worth it to buy trash they died in the middle of last gen, not due to development costs but because they really were a trashy developer.
And no it's nothing new to go out of business cause you made bad games, it's new that so many are losing so much over one game. People have too much riding on one game this gen over past gens...
