Great post. I'd like to see Nintendo (and other companies) revive old branches of their franchises. I don't think they have done enough to satisfy people who liked the older iterations of their games.
They've mostly just kept spinning off in to new directions but have left the old ones hanging. New Super Mario Bros was a nice step in the right direction but it didn't have what I liked about the 1st and 3rd SMB.
I know now with digital distribution and portable systems they can manage to do this. But I don't think they've tried to do it nearly enough. I hope Wario Land: Shate it! is not just a one time thing.
