I'm sure we'll see an 80gig price drop when we see the 100gig released. As for the 40gig at $399 new I doubt it.

OMG, I was about to say the exact same thing.......THE EXACT SAME THING!!!

Anyway, Sony is screwing alot of people with this so called hardware strategy of theirs.

-At launch (Nov. 17, 2006) 2 SKU's released (20gb low-end model / 60gb higher-end model)  $499-$599 respectively

-Probably early 2007 (20gb model discontined / 60gb model remains)

-July/August of 2007 -New SKU- (Temp. price cut on 60gb model / New 80gb Even higher-end model released) $499-$599 respectively just eight and a half months after launch.

-Probably  early 2008 (60gb model discontinued / 80gb model remains)

- MAYBE Sometime late 2008-09 ANOTHER YET BETTER SKU COMES OUT and REPLACES THE ALREADY WOULD BE 80gb model, although I really hope that wouldn't happen! (For the sake of Sony and Sony's customers)

 See the pattern.

What I'm trying to say is that people or consumers say that having different SKUs is good and all but as long as long as Sony keeps bringing out SKU after SKU, the people that bought the previous version of the updated SKU is getting screwed (20gb/60gb users) which means that everyone that bought a 20gb or a 60gb PS3 is pretty much getting screwed because of the newer models.  Any thoughs...
