Well WKC does seem to show that PS3 can't sell JRPGs in japan.

Of course... the 360 can't either.

So really. It doesn't invalidate the PS3 argument.

WKC sold low for it's budget... so it'll need America and Europe to rally for it.

There is a reason why basically every RPG series not Final Fantasy was a low budget affair on the PS2.

The problem is... HD consoles don't allow for low budget affairs.  Meaning the HD systems basically NEED blockbusters.

overexaggerate much?

If anything he was holding back. He could have brought up how this game will have no legs, how it's not going to change anything, how it's 2nd party so no one is really going to care, etc.

The HD consoles are incapable of selling anything but big budget games in Japan, they simply aren't healthy markets for anyone that doesn't have the money to spend on games like that, and extremely hostle towards developers and genres that are completely dependent on Japan's sales.

wow learn something before speaking. Out of the 77 titles of sales data vgchartz has on record for rpgs in japan on the ps2 wkc will probablly outsell all but like 15 of them. with 8 of them being named dragon quest, kingdom hearts, or final fantasy. I think the sales are perfectly fine. but any doom and gloom you get a chance to spout out right... guess ps2 wasn't able to sell rpgs either...

and can you show me their budget? if not then dont bring it up into an arguement its redic. if you cant provide proff. I'm sure the budgets arent as high as you assume. Sega will be my example 5 Ps3 exclusive games. If budget was a real problem I don't think they'd keep doing that. not only is it on the one with the smaller user base but its also the one thats hardest to develop for. And the games dont sell extreamly well... which leads me to believe they are still profitable or why would sega do that? and i doubt sony pays for them because I think they wouldn't waste their money and small nameless titles that they probablly would know wont help them much since they probablly know they wont be system sellers and they probablly know they wont sell many copies anyways ontop of having to watch their own financial issues

It outselling PS2 games means absolutely nothing in your favor because the PS3 isn't the PS2, it's a second party game so it's disqualified by default, and it has a higher budget than all those PS2 games so it needs to outsell them to be even remotely successful.

And really...you're using Sega as an example? Really? The same Sega that's not making hardware anymore, the same one that sent Panzer Dragoon to die on the Xbox, the same one that regulated a Sonic side game to the Wii which ended up outperforming both versions of the 'canon' title? You're making this too easy.
