Exactly what basis are you reasoning that the PS3 will leave the 360 "in the dust"?  Is the PS3 all of a sudden going to be less expensive?  Will there be a sudden demand for Blu-Ray?  Well, the RROD return, but this time function as a lazer of doom that will blow up houses and kill millions?

 

Honestly, I don't think Joseph has a clue as to how the game industry works when it comes to hardware sales. The PS3 hardware sales was like 10-15% less this year then last year, while the XBox 360 sales were 20-25% higher. Sony has no plans to drop the price of the PS3 until midsummer or fall of next year. So for the 1st half of 2009, the XBox 360 will most likely continue to outsell the PS3 worldwide. If M$ decided to drop the price again before the holiday of 2009, the PS3 will have no chance of catching the XBox 360 in 2009. Neither system will catch the Wii this generation.
