it's not just that square sales are down, the recession has a lot to do with it also. However unlike the US and Europe, sales change drastically depending on what titles are released. You release a 1 final fantasy and 1 dragon quest title and all the sudden half the gap is gone. Last year there was several final fantasy titles and this year there was really only 1.
