@Ultraslick: That doesn't really differ from the popular consoles from the past. Most people propably play their consoles only a few times a week, but Wii has one advantage, which is the variety of pick up and play -type of games. Most people propably have issues with how to consume their time, when a game that is easy to learn and can be played in short bursts becomes an advantage. I see a lot of people to complain about the number of minigame compilations on Wii and even more how well they sell, but the people who complain, are missing the point that it's the way how people play games.
People who play Wii a lot, may not have the time to play another console. People who aren't happy with Wiis current lineup, then again, propably will buy another one.
What really is the issue, is the bad attach rate of games on PS3. We can make two assumption from it, from which either or both can be true:
1. PS3 has a bad line-up of games (ie. do not appeal to gamers).
2. PS3 is selling to other people than just gamers (which is bad due to PS3 selling at a loss).
From my personal experience, both of the points are true. I know people who have got it only as a BD player and people who have bought it only to play one game, since it's the only game that appeals to them (outside the one game, they play on their PC).
Since people are going to whine and list games due to the previous; don't bother, i know most people buy the console to play games on it and buy them in numbers. The idea was to look at why PS3 has the worst attach rate despite it being so "hardcore" system.
Ei Kiinasti.
Eikä Japanisti.
Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.
Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.
