I was interested in the thread untill someone said that in a matter of JRPGs, PS1 > SNES. That shit is just blasphemy... Both consoles are incredible as far as JRPGs go. It's hard to choose between Xenogears or Chrono Trigger or Final Fantasy VI or VII. Let's just hope those golden days ever come back, but I'm afraid. |
They can come back. There just need to be more AAA JRPGs other than Final Fantasy and Persona. Maybe some of the design for JRPGs need a little work too because they keep making JRPGs with the "kids save the world" stories. Fragile is doing a good job avoiding that plot entirely and the main characters are children in that game. Also, the cutscene heaviness is also a problem because people tend to think they are trying to make interactive movies and not games.
