Do I feel childish to play MK Wii? Not fricking way and as far as I concerned, you’re missing just as much by not being able to play MK as I am by not being able to play MGS. The fact that two platforms happen to share a lot more software in common doesn’t make them a gold standard. Does the fact that GM and Ford make near clones make them superior to BMW who makes…BMWs.

Perhaps instead of saying "grown-ups" and "clowns", I should have said "hardcore gamers" and "everyone". You make a fair point in saying that you are not childish because you play MK Wii, and I 100% agree. But I will ask you this, do you feel childish because you are watching a clown entertain? I certainly don't, but there is a huge difference between going to the circus and watching, say "The Matrix" in the cinema.

If one console provides more of one experience than other experiences, why is it wrong to see it in that light? I'm not saying "clown" is the right term to use here, right now I am regretting using that as it seems to have sidetracked this quite a bit. Instead go with the notion that the majority of games on the Wii are accesible to everyone.

The PS360 certainly doesn't have a library where the majority of games are accesible to everyone. This is because the demographics for these two consoles are not "everyone". They are aiming at the hardcore gamers.

A 7 year old child would most likely love going to the circus, but after watching "The Matrix" for two minutes, they would be bored out of their minds. Where as someone who is "hardcore", could easily like both.

Now you are completely jumping off the wagon.

However I will correct and expand your analogy here for you.

The first Matrix was a ground breaking film(heavily derived from Mindwarp and Ghost in the Shell). It brought a fresh take to special effects and story telling despite similiar movies being released that year(Dark City).

The sequels ended up being more for the Hardcore fans and were not nearly as well recieved. In fact many people who love film would probably have preferred clown enterainment than what we got in the sequels but I digress.

Games like Mario Kart is more akin to movies like Wall-E, Finding Nemo, Shrek, and The Incredibles. All of those movies are family entertainment but they also have appeal outside of just families and many adults can appreciate or even likehem for they are.

In fact the infantile levels of these games are more akin to gremlins or spiderman then they are clown enterainment. SOme of it may aspire to behe Disney type but that doesn't neccessarily make it childish.

So you are saying I should have chosen a different movie then The Matrix? I know it is certainly one of the most hardcore movies of our time, but it certainly isn't for everyone either, which is what I was getting at.

Otherwise I fully agree with you, but the reason I chose circus to work with was expand on my former use of the clown, but obviously it is more correct to compare two movies, so thank you for expounding on it.
