Square always outsources these remakes. They are not putting their own teams to work on this. You are not getting any fewer new games.
Also: this is an old game and younger people (and many others) have not had an opportunity to play it. They deserve that chance.

This is Final Fantasy VI we're talking about. If they missed it on the SNES, Playstation, and the Game Boy Advance, then that's their own fault.

That assertion is, in itself, ridiculous. You'e talking a niche genre during a time when gaming itself was much less widespread and acceptable as a recreational activity, a broken port that no one cared about, and a better port that got no advertising.
No, it is not their own faults, and it is ridiculous to pretend so. Let them put it out and push it: the more people playing this game, the better.
