Didn't Sony sell their LCD production to Samsung a couple of years ago to cut down their lossed from TV:s, Sony focusing on smaller screens and computer monitors.
You must confuse this with a different company or technology. Their TVs have been very profitable before the whole financial market crisis hit. They made a nice profit because of their electronics in 2007 despite the PS3 dragging them down.
