The Conduit was (potentially) developed for far less than people realize ...

From the sound of it, The Conduit has followed the same pattern of a lot of HD console shooters that is used to keep development costs down and quality up; having a short single player campaign (8 hours) and providing value by having a small selection of high quality multiplayer levels (each with multiple modes). Suppose that there are 8 hours of Gameplay and 8 multiplayer levels, and for every hour of gameplay or multiplayer map there is 2 man years of labour ... This works out to 32 man years of labour and a development budget of (under) $5 Million.
