God of War is more less a hardcore series so it should probably sell 2.5 million but honestly even if there is a lot of hype I really doubt that it will get to 3 million. The only possible way would be that Sony pushes it more than any other game during next year, through bundles or through the best hits line. I`m expecting, if launched durind Q4 2009, 1.5-2 million till the end of 09, with about 500k copies sold during the rest of its lifetime. Many gamers bought the first 2 because of the gore, and many of those people were casual gamers, people that won`t spend more than $200 to play that game. The final fantasies, gran turismo and probably killzone 2 are a given, the other games no way. |
Those numbers for "Others" are outdated, it's safe to assume that GoW sold about 3.8-4 million and GoWII sold about 3-3.2 million.
