I would play MGS1-3 though..
Get a ps2 at gamestop for $59.99 and buy the essential collection, its one of the best if not the best gaming series I have ever played.
MGS3 is the most emotional one, it really got me close to the characters and then when MGS4 came along.. that emotion really played a roll in my experience with the game.
