This is a ridiculous viewpoint that sadly too many people let themselves be deluded into. Iraq has produced LESS oil since the invasion. The U.S. hasn't taken control of Iraqi oil and even U.S. companies were not given preferences by Iraq in oil contracting. If we were so desperate for Iraqi oil, we probably would have played the same game many other countries did with the unbelievably corrupt oil-for-food program.
