Dooming themselves and hindering their credibility and relevance aren't quite the same thing.
Sure, they'll have a market to cater to but it's market being condensed around a larger, growing market. Consider a media company that failled to cater to the TV (radio only) market once TV became the dominant media format. Yes, they maintained a market but it became a niche market. Worse for 1up is that they seem to have contempt for the new market. Now again, imagine that media company staying radio only AND showing obvious and blatant disregard, contempt and animosity for the new TV media format. Not exactly a media company with a great future prevelance, wouldn't you say?
