To me those are the biggest things that make Blu-ray so great. I have a 50in Sony SXRD, and when veiwing an upconverted DVD the picture is very nice, but with Blu-ray it is like looking at the scence with no screen. I only have a 5.1 aduio setup, but the differance between the two formats is sipily day and night. With my setup Blu-ray puts movie veiwing in a whole new league. Before Blu-ray I was into movies at the theater, but often never cared to pick them up for home veiwing. Now I skip the theather, and just wait for the BD.
Sorry if you are not getting the same experiance I am, I feel real bad for you.
