All specs.... the difference between 1080p and 1440p video isnt codex its space...

 

So all the current SOC's used in different players have been spec'd to 1440p decoding?

 

I think your not understanding the fact that the decoding for 1440p is the same process as 2160p, 1080p, 720p, and 480p. As long as the 1440p video is running a supported codex then it can be decoded to be 1440p or whatever resolution the video is.
