I am under the impression that what you see in Animal Crossing is a certain artistic style, which will continue on, no matter what the graphic capabilities of machines are. The gameplay would be similar. Sure, Nintendo could include more stuff, but the basics remain.
Anyhow, isn't the point of this iteration on the Wii to enable online multiplayer play?
