WKC did great compared to the other HD RPG titles that came out this year in Japan.

Phantasy Star is a bit of a disappointment though. Expected higher.

It sold better, but not by much. I think people were expecting it to sell twice that amount in it's first week. Let's see if it stay above 100K next week. or drops below 50K.

Tales of Vesperia sold 106K

Last Remnant sold 105K

Valkyria Chronicles only sold 78K

Disgaea 3 sold only 20K in the U.S.

Both Tales of Vesperia and Last Remnant sold on a system that have less then 1/2 the number of console sales than the PS3 has in Japan. So their sales are actually more impressive.

which makes the ps3 look more impressive worldwide, as the 360 is supposed to have 5-6 million more consoles in homes yet most multiplat games dont really sell that much more on the 360.

Multiplats sell a lot more worldwide on the Xbox 360. As for the JRPG sales, I was talking about in Japan. Those sales I posted are for Japan only except for Disgaea, which VGChartz only had U.S. sales. WKC sales are ok, but definitely not great. That game should have easily sold over 250K it's first week considering how popular the Playstation platform is in Japan and how much Japan gamers are eager for great JRPG. I expect sales to be low on the 360 as there are less then 1 million 360's sold in Japan, while the PS3 has sold more then 3x's the amount of 360's in that region. WKC only outsold some of the 360's JRPG exclusives by 30K. That's not good enough. If the sales of WKC stay above 100K for a few week, then that would be much better.

Your also comparing the day one sales of this game against the entire first week sales of those 360 games. There are only 2.6 mil PS3's in Japan and yet you talk like every game should have a 1/4th sell through day one! Your nuts. Also, if this isn't a success then all of those 360 games are utter failures and the genre should just die because guess what? Games don't become cheaper to develope just because the 360 has a lower install base then the ps3 in japan. Those games still have to make so many sales to make their money back.

If you guys want to talk about what's bad for a JRPG and all JRPG's in general then lets talk about it. It's called the xbox360. That's right. Companys are making JRPGs exclusive to the 360 but japanese customers aren't wanting to buy the console. If all those JRPG's were multiplat then they would all see better sales and the japanese made console the PS3 would be having better sales and JRPG's would be doing better off because of it. Why? Because Japanese gamers want japanese made products and many of them have no intentions of buying an amarican made console. The 360 is the console killing JRPG's sales in Japan. So get off it 360 fanboys.
