| Torillian said: @Stickball Could you just stop? Really.....please? Just admit you have no idea on the budget of the game and therefore cannot even begin to guess how many sales it needs to see a profit. The fact that you try and downplay a JRPG's sales success just leads me to believe you aren't really a JRPG fan. Here's an example: I personally thought that ToS2 was very average and not worth the praise it gets on these forums, but I do not go around lamenting its sales, on the contrary I am just happy that a JRPG is doing well, regardless of what system or what title. So stop trying to make WKC out to be a failure and just be happy that JRPG's are still alive and well. |
How am I downplaying it's success? WKC may be Level 5's worst-selling Playstation RPG in quite a few years, so I'm trying to guess what 'sucuess' is. If you have a better opinion, please provide it.
I'm not arguing if it's a failure or not. But going by past Level 5 games, we can make certain statements regarding sellthrough.
And way to go attacking my JRPG sensibilities. Judging from your catalogue, you haven't been a fan of the genre for half the time I have. I love the JRPG genre, and I stated earlier in my post that I thought 132k was a pretty good number for it's first day. I'm not trying to downplay 132k - Merely asking where that number stands in the grand scheme of things for a game debuting on the largest-selling week of the year in Japan.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
