Ok well... this New Format will have the rez that supports up to 1920p... so it will look as good if not better then Blu-Ray on your 1080p TV, and when 5 years comes around you will be ready, so a studio thats always looking for a ways to sell Movies will be interested (and thats ALL the studios), and once word of mouth gets out that something better, cheaper, larger (for 1 layer) there might be no stopping it.. _____________ Yes Blu-Ray is that expensive. It might be the same as DvD when it first came out but come on... DvD was replacing vhs...VHS... Blu-Ray is replacing DvD.. not so much of an upgrade if you ask many.. (but there are thousands of discussions on that topic sooo..) _____________ I'm making the assumption because you said that "Super HD adoption" is 5 years away.. and I said "this format is future proof" you buy it NOW and it looks amazing on your 1080p and 5 years from now it still looks amazing. Your acting like this new format will ONLY play on a 1920p tv.. Thats like saying you can't view DvD's with you Blu-Ray player..

Here is the thing, it has been proven that 100GB Blu-ray discs can play in current players and the 50GB Blu-ray can handle a 1440p movie. 1920p is only two steps up from 1440p which means that 100GBs is more than enough for 1920p and 2160p.
