The Dreamcast was sold at a loss. It wasn't selling sell until it's price was lowered, and then Sega couldn't afford the money it was loosing per unit. The Wii is sold at a profit.  If anything, the PS3 is more comparible to the DC, although the copy protection on the PS3 has not been broke as easily as the DC, so they can continue to loose money on the console and hope to make it back with future software sales.
