I think it's interesting that this thread came out the same week as Bioshock hit stores. By all accounts this possible game of the year contender couldn't do it without the stunning atmosphere that pervades the game, and that same atmosphere couldn't be done on the wii's hardware. Part of what makes games like Metroid and Super Mario Galaxy possible is how they're based in non realistic locations. Corruption's alien worlds are fantastic, but were Samus to walk down a current day city street that street wouldn't look nearly as realistic as it would on another system.
