I think Z&W is a good choice. It's not really any harder than those classic puzzle adventures (it's a lot easier than some of them), and if they get stuck, there is a hint system.
But Boom Blox really is a good idea. Great multiplayer modes that you all could enjoy together. It is pricier than Z&W, though...
