At the end of this week if we add 50k for Japan (The Source preview 45-55k) you get the number 18.83 million.... considering this should be the biggest week of the year, and PS3 managed under 550k, it is not going to make 1.17 million even if the next 2 weeks are both the same as this week.... but they won't, they will be less.

 

 

 The man speaks the truth. I mean you have to be a huge fanboy to believe a the PS3 will make 1.17m worldwide in the next 7 days, just not going to happen. This week was the biggest week of the year and has always been that. Next week sales will drop off a lot, then the 1st week onwards of January sparks the bad 3 months for console sales. Sony and its PS3 are going into that period dead last, the most expensive, dropping week over week % and the least wanted console. It will not just generate the interest people think it will, that is pure fantasy. Here in UK you could get a PS3 for £250 with LBP the whole of last week. That is only £50 more then the elite 360. But the sales figures show people didnt give a crap, in fact its sales dropped by nearly 100%, that is not a good sign at all.

If you look at the final week of december you see these numbers

PS3 sold 400k WORLDWIDE for last week of december 2007

Then look at the previous three weeks for december 2008

20th dec = 485k worldwide

13th dec = 400k worldwide

6th dec = 348k worldwide

So basically your saying the PS3 will sell what it has sold for every week of december COMBINED. An increase over this week by over 200%.
