Yeah, console revisions do sell a lot, but: can't the wii get one? I don't see what they could do it's already quite small and nice

You could argue that new input devices like the balance board and Wii Motion Plus are hardware revisions, since they expand the capability of the original hardware. Adding features through peripherals isn't so different from adding features with a console revision.

He has a point, though. Nintendo could turn the Wii into the next iPod, if they wanted to, just releasing new hardware revisions without ever changing the name. Then where would we be? I ask you!

Mmmm, would they really count as a single machine though? i mean would you add wii 2nd generation which supports HD as sales of wii?? GBA doesn't add up to GB sales right? backwards and forwards compatibility must be assured for it to count as the same console, right?

That would mean that the DSi doesn't count as a DS because it cannot play Guitar Hero On Tour while the DS Lite can't play a game which uses both touch screens of the DSi. If that's the definition we're using, the Wii will definitely win.

"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event."  — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing
