" I agree with everything except number 4. An analog stick is basically the same thing that was available before the NES took gaming to the game pad. The only difference is it was designed to be opperated with your thumb."

First of all, that was point 3. Second of all, joysticks could only move in 8 directions, with no sensitivity. So that is bloody wrong to assume thumbs are the only difference.
