Microsoft cutting up to 10,000 jobs?

A couple points of facts:

1. Microsoft is hugely profitable. The worries are more around how much the profit will grow. Not if they are going to be profitable.

2. No company does a 10,000 workers "stealth layoffs". Reducing the workforce by 10,000 (or 5,000) by any company will be something that will be communicated officially both internally and externally.

3. Every company should be ready to asjust to the economic slowdown. All will tighten the belt and manage the expenses more tightly. This may mean less hiring and reduced investment in new ventures.
