Microsoft is in this for one reason alone. Control of your living room. Sony is their biggest enemy in this battle and Nintendo isn't even a target to them. Why? Because Nintendo creates single purpose devices (which isn't bad.) Nintendo doesn't support an alternative operating system.

Sony wants to bring the living room up a notch and include media capability in the "Play"station brand. They want to include movie play, music play, game play, ??? play. Microsoft sees this as competition for the media center and Windows on your TV (and competition for Windows in your house.) To Microsoft it's competition to DirectX and keeps game developers on OpenGL (which they are trying to kill.) They will bring out every underhanded trick in the book (as they usually do) to keep Sony from providing the world with a device (computer) that runs something besides Windows. That's it.

It seems the mods need help with this forum.  I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.
